Doc on Imam Khomeini wife opens Iran Cinema Verite fest

A documentary on Khadijeh Saqafi the wife to late founder of the Islamic Republic is set to open the 11th Cinema Verite film festival in Iran.

The doc ‘Lady Quds of Iran’ directed by Mostafa Razzaq Karimi bears the nick name of Imam Khomeini’s wife ‘Quds of Iran’ as part of the title.

The opening ceremony of the Cinema Verite is dedicated to the screening of the documentary to be held December 10 in Iranian capital city of Tehran at Charsou Cineplex Hall 1.

‘Lady Quds of Iran’ is produced by Iran Documentary & Experimental Film Center among other sponsors.

Razzaq Karimi told local media Saturday that "Khadijeh Saqafi lived with Imam for more than 60 years and the film is about her life since birth."

The 2017 edition of the Cinema Verite will take place in the Iranian capital city of Tehran from December 10-17.
